A DISCOUNTED SET OF THREE DECKS OF MANTIS PLAYING CARDS.

Welcome to our new collaboration project! We are excited to introduce the Mantis Playing Cards, an original deck of cards developed by Sean Devine and designed by Manel.

This deck is inspired by classic playing card designs from the 19th and 20th centuries. The mantis gives the cards an unusual twist.

Why mantis? An urban legend says: “When you see a mantis, beware of smoke and mirrors.” How fitting for a magic deck!

Yes, the Mantis Playing Cards were created for magic. They are a fully marked deck with a reader-style marking system. This is the first time we are producing a reader-backed deck.

The cleverly designed marking system lets you identify the value of any card with a quick glance at its back. The markings are positioned near the cards’ border, making them visible in spreads.

In addition to the markings, the back features a one-way design, offering even more ways to astonish your spectators. Two one-way systems are hidden in the backs.

To complete the deck's vintage feel, we went with 1885 Bicycle faces, redrawn and perfected by Daniel Schneider. We adjusted the court cards' scheme by substituting the usual blue for the same green on the backs. The faces also carry a one-way design.

Manel designed a simple and elegant praying mantis Ace of Spades and a pair of identical Jokers. Thanks to the Jokers, you have duplicates straight out of the box.

There is one more magic feature: they come ready in the Si Stebbins stack.

The cards are housed in a matte green tuck box with a long flap. It was commonly used in the 20th century.

Mantis Playing Cards were printed with Legends Playing Card Company on the Ultra-thin Viper Finish™. The cards are thin, snappy, and traditionally cut, providing effortless faro shuffles from faces to backs. This is especially useful for table work.
